Provisional 2025 EPHMRA ATC Developments
The following new class structures were voted on by EPHMRA/Intellus in May/June 2024 and agreed in principle. These structures will now be used in the next part of the development process which is the detailed refinement of the rules. Please note that these new class structures are provisional at this time. The 2025 codes, descriptions and Guideline text will be finalised and published by the Committee at the end of 2024. The new structures then come into effect from the beginning of 2025.
1.Other hormones – anticorticosteroids New third level class within H4 (Other hormones) for products containing anticorticosteroids, including products for Cushing’s syndrome. Currently, these products are classified in H4X (Other hormones and preparations with similar actions).

2.Immunoglobulins – respiratory syncytial virus New fourth level class within J6H (Specific immunoglobulins - antiviral) for immunoglobulins for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) e.g. nirsevimab or palivizumab. Currently, these products are classified in J6H9 (Other antiviral immunoglobulins).

3.Immunoglobulins – COVID-19 New fourth level class within J6H (Specific immunoglobulins - antiviral) for COVID-19 immunoglobulins e.g. casirivimab + imdevimab and cilgavimab + tixagevimab. Currently, these products are classified in J6H9 (Other antiviral immunoglobulins).

4. Vaccines – respiratory syncytial virus New fourth level class within J7E (Viral vaccines) for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines. Currently, these products are classified in J7E9 (All other viral vaccines).

5. Gabapentinoids
New third level class within N2 (Analgesics) for products containing gabapentinoids. Currently, these products are predominantly classified in N3A (Anti-epileptics), however mirogabalin is classified in N2B (Non-narcotics and anti-pyretics) as it is only indicated for neuropathic pain.
