This year’s Conference is shaping up to be the most insightful and streamlined yet, with more opportunities for thought-provoking debate and questions than ever before. As we approach the Conference (June 26-28), EPHMRA welcomes you to take an in-depth look at the Wednesday’s key highlights, expert speakers and unmissable opportunities.

The conference gets into full swing with a record FOUR plenary sessions throughout the day – and as a result of your feedback, each boast fantastic speakers, with plenty of time for questions and discussion on topics that are sure to provoke some lively debate!

  1. Our opening keynote entitled: 'At Boardroom level: making a difference and having greater impact' will be presented by Ian Talmage, (Senior Advisor, Global Strategic Marketing) of Bayer Pharmaceuticals and runs between 9am and 10.15am (Swiss time).

The session will share Ian’s perspective on industry developments and his perspective on the role of Business Intelligence. The session will be chaired by EPHMRA president Karsten Trautmann of Merck KGaA with Richard Hinde, Head of Global Commercial Intelligence at Norgine joining the panel.

  1. Hot off the press we can announce that at 10.10am, Ursula Kraus-Meeder of Boehringer Ingelheim and Angela Duffy of Research Partnership will present their session entitled - 'STOP PRESS: How researchers became journalists to champion the voice of the customer'.

With researchers increasingly expected to act as the voice of the customer in the delivery of pharmaceutical and healthcare services, how can those involved in business intelligence, analysis and research develop the skills required to demonstrate the immense value of insight?

The session chair is Sarah Phillips from IQVIA.

  1. Then at 11am Åsa Eliasson (Senior Director, Global Disease Strategy Lead) of Novartis Pharma AG leads - 'Global Strategy Communication Vs Global Strategy Alignment'.

Åsa will talk about how Novartis Oncology has implemented a new process to ensure optimal country/ regional alignment before setting strategy and developing tactics. The talk is sure to be followed by a lively debate!

  1. Our final plenary will be at 1.40pm, when Al Deakin of Space Doctors delivers - 'Health’s Secret Dimension: How understanding culture can transform the perception of pharmaceutical products'.

The paper at the heart of the presentation shows how an understanding of the cultural dimension to illness and its treatment can successfully transform communications in pharmaceuticals, and even lead to improved NPD. The session will again be chaired by Sarah Phillips of IQVIA.

The afternoon is then packed with a total of six parallel sessions guaranteeing something for all, with three sessions focused on Enhancing Value and three on Data Analytics, with our ever in-demand Agency Sessions taking place from 4.30pm.
