Update in Q4 from Karsten Trautmann, EPHMRA President
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Good to reconnect at the end of a very busy year - and I hope you are all doing well!
It has been a very positive year for EPHMRA – our membership remains strong and we have a large cohort of engaged members.
I wanted to share an update on what we have been focussing on in 2023.
In Person Events
In June, we held our first in-person conference in London (since 2019) and it was a fantastic success – over 200 delegates attended (tickets sold out) and the 3 days were full of insightful content, great discussions and lots of re-connecting with colleagues.
In addition EPHMRA held 3 one day chapter meetings in London, Berlin and Basel – again a great exchange opportunity and good to meet members again in-person to share best practices and exchange on latest trends.
Board Workstreams
Board members are working together on initiatives for member benefit and include:
- Standards
- Community – for AI and Young Professionals
- Excellence – Publishing MR
- Membership – looking at our member offering.
- More updates to follow in Q1 2024.
- Young Professionals (YPs)
Given the importance of attracting and developing Future Leaders we have a YPs group, established from the 2023 Conference Grant Winners.
Training and specific conference papers are being initiated. Again more updates early next year.
EPHMRA Services
On this note I would like to highlight our ethics and compliance service, which is a key member benefit, and we launched our Data Protection online training course – included in the membership fee. Consent Form templates for UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain were finalised and our FMV for HCPs report published!
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone, who is involved in a Committee and Working Group, developing EPHMRA and contributing to the tremendous work behind the scenes:
- Board
- Classification
- Data & Systems
- Ethics
- Fieldwork Forum
- Forecasting
- LDC
- NFC
- Conference Programme
- Committee
- Chapter Convenors
I hope that gives you an overview as to what is happening across the Association and if you have any comments, suggestions or feedback please do not hesitate to share with me and get in touch at any time.
